If it is nearing the end of the week then it is time for the ragtag group known as the Friday Fictioneers to emerge from the shadows. Led by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields, we take the photo and weave our magic with prose and poetry to entertain you. You will find humor, murder, love, passion, treachery and possibly even a poem mixed into the collection of responses.
The photo for this adventure is usually supplied by one of our cohorts. This week, Danny Bowman is the photo provider. I hope you will check out his blog.
Due to a popular requests I am keeping Detective Sophie Marcus as my main character for these weekly photo adventures. In previous installments Sophie is brought in to investigate a murder at a writing conference. You can catch up by reading “The Hornet Chronicles“,”Not the Usual Suspects“, “You Be Mine, I’ll Be Yours” , “The Non-Existent Alibis” and “Guilty!”.
(Genre: Crime Fiction) ( 100 words)

“I thought Tom, or Detective Bray was doing this.”
Sophie studied E.L. Appleby for a moment. The Brit was a suspect she just couldn’t get past. Then she retrieved a photo and slid it to her.
“This is the photo “The Hornet Chronicles” centers on?”
“Yes.”
“You took it?”
“I did.”
“But Ms. Kelly stole your idea for the novel?”
Appleby’s face flushed and her eyes narrowed.
“Then she accused me of being bitter!”
“Are you?”
“About some things, but not enough to kill her.”
Sophie slid a second picture over. Appleby’s eyes widened and she looked up in horror.

There’s something very tantalizing about this story. It just has it all going on.
What is in that second picture? Another great installment. Appleby is on the run now, or not.
I never trusted that Appleby!
