Are you a fiction writer? Do you love taking a simple prompt and weaving a story that explains your vision of what you see? Then you may want to enroll in the Friday Fictioneers treatment program. Each week our lovely counselor in residence, Rochelle Wisoff-Fields, posts the photo that launches a grand adventure for those of us infected with this condition. All around the world writers eagerly await their weekly tonic.
Many times the photo featured for the prompt comes from one of the writers involved in our ever enlarging circle. This week, Janet Webb is the photo provider. I hope you will check out her blog with the link in her name .
Due to a popular request from commenters last week I am keeping Detective Sophie Marcus as my main character for these weekly photo adventures. I like the recurring character after reading of Reaper, Newcago and Angelique’s adventures. I hope you enjoy the continuing theme. Please comment as it helps me decide how to wind the plot.
(Genre: Crime Fiction)

Detective Sophie Marcus loved the warmth of a spring morning, reminding her of her youth on the beaches of South Carolina.
Now she spent her days chasing killers. This morning she was trudging toward an unmoving form under a sheet.
“Morning, Sophie,” an officer said.
“Jim, what is it?”
“Let me show you,” he offered. He knelt to roll the sheet back revealing the victim’s face.
“I recognize her. She wrote the “Hornet Chronicles”.
“Check that out!” Jim pointed.
“It’s no hornet nest!” Sophie declared.
“It may not be related.”
“Now who would kill a book author?” Sophie mused aloud.
