I have made many friends over the time with the Fictioneers. I even convinced a few of my friends to join a project to collaborate on a fiction story. For the months of May and June we are putting together a thirteen part fiction short story. If you love fiction you will want to check out this project. You can do so by following this link Bakers Dozen Fiction Story. Among the culprits you will see regular Fictioneers such as Ted Strutz, Jennifer Pendergast, Leslie Moon, David Stewart and yours truly. The 8th chapter posted live today!
E.L. Appleby is the photo source this time around. I did not realize the British Isles had such mysterious creatures!
Due to a popular requests I am keeping Detective Sophie Marcus as my main character for these weekly photo adventures. In previous installments Sophie is brought in to investigate a murder at a writing conference. You can catch up by reading “The Hornet Chronicles“,”Not the Usual Suspects“, “You Be Mine, I’ll Be Yours” , “The Non-Existent Alibis“, “Guilty!” , What About Tom? and The Murder Frock.
I want your opinion. I am including a poll and want to get your feel for the Flash Fiction serial idea. Do you like it? Please answer the poll.

“Look, I was desperate,” David Stewart declared.
“You photographed Appleby for blackmail?”
“Do you realize how much one of these cost?” Stewart asked as he rested his finger on the photo of the mixed up animal. I have triplets and a wife that don’t understand the word prototype.
“You owe money?” Marcus asked.
“I want a deal. You get the one who ordered the hit.”
“The hit?” Sophie repeated, her eyes narrowing. “A deal for murder, not blackmail.”
“Okay,” Stewart nodded. “I owe over a 100K to Sustainabilitea Press. Janet told me it was erased when Karen Kelly was removed.”

So Janet’s responsible for David’s actions? I feel sure she’s going to try to wriggle out of it, or he’s trying to.
I enjoy serials, and did one myself. It allows for even mor twists back and forth
Interesting!!!

Mine:
Inventive tale. Great job! Personally, I would have difficult with the serial flash, but it is a great challenge. It takes it up a notch and definitely gives your story structure, probably taking it to an unknown destination.
Very clever. Enjoyed it.
Crafty entry for this week Joe!
I think they should stand alone – but I voted differently because I thought your poll needed opinions on your serial flash and I am enjoying discovering each week how you tie the next prompt in. There is definitely talent involved in serialising flash fiction.
Kudos for this week’s write too.
I think serials are interesting if done right, and I’ve seen some good ones from FFF writers. Personally, I can’t hold a thought long enough to string two back-to-back.
As far as the story goes, it was good, but I had a little trouble following the dialogue.
