Flash in the Pan is another opportunity for you to enjoy Flash Fiction. I was happy to find it, but I am sure there are others who do not know. While flash can mean a lot of things, for this specific challenge it is limited to 150 words or less. There is a range of limits for each of the words selected for the Flash in the Pan challenge and Up is one of those with the highest word limit.
By selecting the words in the quarter’s list you can know your word limit. The exciting thing is that these stories are collected for publication each quarter. But, only 250 flashes entered will make the publication, so do not hesitate. The theme for this quarter’s edition is Boys and Their Toys.

Figures (75)
“I haven’t seen figures like that in six months,” Brett said. He handed the binoculars to his buddy as he eyeballed the beach from the flight deck of their aircraft carrier, docked in an Italian port.
“It makes quite a difference when there is no uniform involved,” John replied.
“How’s your Italian sport?” Brett asked.
“Eh, I know enough. Besides it won’t be my Italian that gets me what I want, my charm will.”
