Flash in the Pan is another opportunity for you to enjoy Flash Fiction. I was happy to find it, but I am sure there are others who do not know. While flash can mean a lot of things, for this specific challenge it is limited to 150 words or less. There is a range of limits for each of the words selected for the Flash in the Pan challenge and Up is one of those with the highest word limit.
By selecting the words in the quarter’s list you can know your word limit. The exciting thing is that these stories are collected for publication each quarter. But, only 250 flashes entered will make the publication, so do not hesitate. The theme for this quarter’s edition is Boys and Their Toys.

“That ain’t right man! No one with a body like that should be able to surf that well,” Hobie declared.
“Dude, she does it all the time,” Manu replied. “She shreds like a pro!”
“You say she is J.J.’s sister?”
“Yessir, a junior at Aloha State. Her name is Kiana. She is majoring in forensic science.”
“CSI to be,” Hobie added.
The girl headed back toward another monster swell and made it her personal playground.
