I found a new flash fiction challenge for any and all who enjoy such a test of your writing ability. While flash can mean a lot of things, for this specific challenge it is limited to 100 words or less. By selecting the words in the quarter’s list you can know your word limit. The exciting thing is that these stories are collected for publication each quarter. But, only the first 250 flashes entered will make the publication, so do not hesitate.

Welcome to “Flash in the Pan”

“Flying isn’t so bad. Flying isn’t so bad. Flying isn’t so bad,” Bruce repeated.
“I used to be like you,” The man to his right said.
“I don’t like airplanes.”
“They go up, they come down. Simple.”
It’s not the up that gets me, it is the down.”
“What goes up must come down,” his new friend offered.
“But where it comes down is the matter,” Bruce said, wiping sweat from his brow.
“True enough.”
“Flying isn’t so bad. Flying isn’t so bad. Flying isn’t so bad,” Bruce repeated.
“Ladies and gentleman, this is your captain with some bad news.”
