Questions I Think My Dog Would Ask – Chapter 6 – Where is Everybody Going with the Purple Roley Thing

QITMDWA

Welcome back for the next installment in this recurring series and if you are new we are glad to have you. For background to the newbies, this is a chance for my two year old miniature Sheltie to speak her canine mind. If you were around Sydney for any amount of time you would realize her personality is so large that there has to be some questions she would like answered. I seek to be the best owner I can and attend to every need, so that is the reason we decided to bring her questions to this forum.

So this week’s QITMDWA is this, in Sydney’s words:

Where is Everybody Going with the Purple Roley Thing? I guess folks think we dogs don’t notice when things aren’t what they usually are, but I do. I mean come on, when dad starts fooling around with the purple roley thing I know I need to spend time with him. Because if I don’t the next thing I know someone else is feeding me and walking me.

Sister plays with the roley thing more than anyone, including dad. She runs in and out sometimes like her pants are on fire. For the record they haven;t been, not yet! I can tell when the roley thing coming through means more because she gives me extra hugs, so her roley thing adventures aren’t so bad.

Brother hardly ever played with the roley thing, but when he took it out almost a year ago he didn’t come back. I got kind of worried the next time dad took his roley thing out, but so far he keeps coming back!

Don’t get me wrong, I like the new people that come in because they give me their full attention. It’s no big deal to me to spend the time getting them trained up. All I have is time when dad is not around. He is the only one who rewards me with those extra long walks which do sometimes eat up the day.

So I would like for someone who reads this to tell me in a way a dog can get it, why does everybody love this thing so much. I will listen I promise, it is a dog thing!
