As I near the start of year on WordPress and as a result of too many hours lying awake last night I have finally decided to roll back some of the multiple blogs I have created with subject specific themes. You see at one time Joe’s Musings was the only show in town. But then I started writing a ton of fiction on here, so the Fiction Playground hatched and it has a robust 422 posts!
But at the moment the blog I put the most effort into is my Flower-centric one, called Chasing the Blooms. With a quickly evolving plan to make my new venture Alpine Acres Flower Farm a central pillar of my three-prong retirement strategy I expect this blog to remain on its own. Right now I am riding a 72 day streak on Chasing the Blooms and at the moment am proud to have 521 posts for anyone interested in such things
My other two subject specific blogs, Living the J.O.Y. Principle (70 posts), yes I’m embarrassed to admit that since I am most proud of being a Christian and Movies, Television and Streaming, Oh My! (35 posts) just aren’t getting the attention I desire, so I will fold them back to the flagship, Joe’s Musings.
I have some grand plans for the future. I have ideas for three new blog Challenges and would love to find another blogger to tag team with. If you are at all interested let me know and I will lay out the ideas. Two are holiday themed and will come between now and the end of the year.
From Movies, Television and Streaming, Oh My! I want to specifically re-introduce a couple of periodic posts. I can remember years ago when the merchandising theories changed and every movie or television show possible was plastered on every conceivable item to be sold to the public. About three or four summers ago I was on vacation in Ohio when I realized I was seeing Star Wars shirts, hats, stickers and well, everything almost daily. I got to thinking about how much fun it might be to unofficially track the permeation into our every day life. I found the same true for Disney, so I added it as well. Now I know Disney owns both at this point, but Star Wars is such a massive franchise I think it should stand alone.
So the premise is this, when I see a Disney or Star Wars item I will post and the number associated will be the days between sightings. Since I have let this lay for a while I purposely sought out examples today for a start date.
Before anyone begins about the evils of a Pre-October Christmas aisle, I know, I share the sentiment! But here it is and this is a display of wrapping paper with everyone’s favorite characters. Yes, walking into Wal Mart is like shooting fish in a barrel, so I won’t try to cook the data in that manner. I expect to begin encountering posters or new shirts from the upcoming Star Wars #9 movie.
Again, if you are willing to tag team on a blog challenge or three let me know.
