In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Coming To a Bookshelf Near You.”
Today’s Daily Post asks us to write a book summary for the back dust cover of a book we would like to read. I decided to float the germ of an idea I am developing.
It is the year 2090 and the earth is dying. The supposition about Global Warming and Greenhouse Gases have come to fruition and are accelerating the demise of the planet. Countries have been replaced by political regions. The political regions are run by oligarchies.
Siobhan Grinaldi is a young teen in one of the few oligarchies with a concern for the well-being of their citizens. Her father is one of the ruling council and feels relatively confident his family is safe. But he does not know of the coming political change. Or the population reduction plan of the opposing party, one that will threaten Siobhan’s life and that of thousands of other children.
