Pepe had a plan. As top dog of this yard he intended to be the star. Stars made the news and met people that he understood from watching the big rectangle with his owners.

“Why should cats get all the press?” he thought.

His first 200 attempts were futile. “How the hell do they always land on their feet?”

Attempt 243 taught him something very valuable. He had to go with the contour of the bark. Then it was just a matter of building momentum. He saw Gemma watching and hoped she wouldn’t try. After all he was a pro.

    That’s one highly-evolved dog. He is teaching his small human the value of persistence, though she may not be old enough to see beyond a literal application. 🙂
