Five Sentence Fiction – Magnetic

Lille McFerrin provides a weekly one word prompt and asks us to take five sentences to create a response.  There is no word limit with this particular challenge, just a limit to the number of sentences. Be creative and tell your story. Thanks Lillie  for giving us a new word each week.

“When I throw this switch it will draw every metal thing in and within ten minutes the magnetic force will triple. When that happens the critical mass will cause the place to explode.”

“Yeah no superhero is going to stop to explain that,” Billy said as he watched the caped hero do what his friend just described on the screen as the dramatic music continued to swell.

“But they should,” Aaron protested, not all of us are science geeks.

I want to share another opportunity for those of you who love writing flash fiction. Red Dwyer and Redmund Productions offer a quarterly publication that gathers 250 flash fiction stories according to a specific theme and set of words during a thirteen week time period. Right now is the fall session and several words are already in play. There is still over a month to go with this, so hop on over and try your hand: http://mommasmoneymatters.com/flash-fiction/
