Daily Prompt – Viral

Daily Prompt

What is better than exposure for your blog? Not much, that is for sure. All who write do it for their information to be consumed. When the counter is low it can make you feel your effort is wasted. Today the Daily Prompt asks us to dream with them. The Dream: The New York Times will feature your blog on their home page. Tens of thousands of people will see your blog first thing in the morning. Write the blog.

My blog is a collection of many things. You will find nonfiction, fiction, humor and truths about being the father of a teenage son and daughter. You will also read about my faith and Christian walk. It may be something you donl;t see much in your blog travels. In fact I hope it is not something usual. I want this blog to be a differnt landing place, one you want to come back to not only due to the co0ntent, but the way it is presented.

Many people believe the things I hold dear are outdated. Such as a Christian lifestyle, monogamous marriage and for that matter a marriage that lasts. People make choices every day about what matters. You know some people think the internet is evil. That there is some monster waiting to devour people and force then to make questionable decisions and post things that offend others. This is not true, just like it was not true before the internet. The world wide web is a vehicle, but the decisions are made by people.

I choose to write a positive blog that respects the choices people make. Sure there are some who read my blog who live a different lifestyle than I, but reading is a way to understand different ideas. When you understand it does not necessarily mean you agree with a lifestyle, accept it or adapt to it, but that you gain information on why the feel the way they do. You can also educate others about why you believe what you do.

This blogging adventure has allowed me to make several friends who not only enjoy sharing their thoughts and talents with the world, but also share their writing journey. Of course they are in many different positions on the writing and author journey. I have learned so much and made some great friends and you will meet many of them as you read my blog.

I am so happy to have the readers of the New york Times checking in to see what Joe’s Musings is all about. Let me know what you find intersting or intriguing and I will be happy to tell you more.
