Cujo’s Demise – Blog Shorts – Dog Days of Summer #1

Today is August 1st and the first of the ten day Blog Shorts – Dog Days of Summer festival with the hostess of hostesses, Blogdramedy. This is my second round with one of her creations, following the Bog Festivus last December. You can expect some hilarity and hard to believe fiction from those brave enough to strap on their helmets fo rthis wild ride. Each day we take a famous pooch and have our crack at telling their hidden story. We start off today with that evil Saint Bernard made famous by Stephen King, Cujo.

Cujo wanted to be a star. He envied Lassie. Read everything he could about the life Lassie led in Hollywood.  He told his agent to find the role of a lifetime. None of that rescue dog crap, with the whiskey barrel. He also passed on a chance for a multi-movie deal where he was a slobbering Saint Bernard with a family. He would be named after some German pianist. Not! The one role he knew would be iconic? Saint Bernard’s weren’t usually killers. They were if bit by a rabid bat. The side effect he did not consider was that his acting was too good. No one trusted him afterwards.
