Thanks to Carrie at The Muse unleashed I am given the link to another writing challenge site. Writing challenges are a great way to get your creative juices flowing. Sure, there is a backlog of things I want to write about and if you don’t believe me check out Upcoming Posts on my page. It seems that nearly 8 and a half months into my WordPress experience I have developed a skill for identifying blogging topics. I suppose I am part photojournalist. I enjoy telling a story using pictures. Anyway, since I am edging toward bragging, I should get back to the topic at hand.
When I submitted my Friday Fictioneers response for this week I thought it was a one and done kind of post. Carrie commented and said it would also fit for the Studio 30 Plus prompt. Following the link she gave I find it will fit one of their two words set for this week’s prompt. For this week the two words are Fireworks and Fairgrounds. My Friday Fictioneers post was driven toward fireworks in honor of my nation’s 237th anniversary of the day the Declaration of independence was finalized.
A Perch Too High
“Step right up, step right up! The best place to see the show!” the man in the red and white striped uniform barked.
Timmy and Tommy stood staring at the fifty-two foot tall ladder. They had the money to do this, but did they have the guts?
“I don’t know Tommy, it’s awful high!”
“Don’t be a baby,” Timmy chided. We will be up where the fireworks are!”
When the show started, their eyes were filled with bright multi-colored flashes and thundering booms. It wasn’t until the finale that the boys’ attention wavered and their precarious perch became a liability.
I look forward to getting to know the other Studio 30+ writers and hope you will tour my site and tell me what you like. Oh, and thanks Carrie!
