Ok, so I cheated a little. But you already know how difficult it is to come up with a topic for X. I will admit, however I have another reason for doing this. I will share that with you later in this post. For now. let’s talk about the phenomenon of Extreme Couponing.
I watched this show when it first was aired because my wife and I are like every other household in the world. We want to get as much for our money as possible. using coupons is something we have done since the beginning of our marriage. What these people do is nothing compared to our meager attempt to save money.
The shows we saw documented a comprehensive campaing to collect as many coupns as possible and buy everything that would save money whether it was needed or not. In fact, many of the folks they followed would carry their bounty home and fill up a storage room with massive quantities of goods they could never possibly use before the expiration dates.
Now we come to the more important reason I chose this for my X topic. At my church we have a food bank that serves the residents of our community who have a need for food beyond what their ability to provide for their family. I would very much like to connect with an Extreme Coupon person near me to see if we could arrange something. I think someone else’s burden, meaning the overflow of an Extreme Couponer could be redirected to our food pantry.
We don’t have coupons here in the way they seem to have overseas. But what a great idea if you can get someone to help contribute to your church’s effort -far better than it sitting in someone’s Scrooge-like place never being used in time. If it’s a regular show I wonder if writing and asking the show’s producers to pass on your message would help.

I never did understand people who bought things they didn’t need! I’ll sometimes stock up on a product I know we use if it’s on special, but never anything extreme. Trying to save money on groceries is always such a struggle.
