I love my Kindle Fire. I use it for several purposes, including video, internet access and for the e-reader function. I seem to read faster with the e-reader than an actual book. Recently I complete the book that is the title of this review. It is a political thriller, one of my favorite genres.
The name of the book is The Dirty Secret by Brent Wolfingbarger. The book is set in the state of West Virginia, USA just after a Presidential election that was not settled as most are these days, by the time the viewing public gets the official declaration by the media. In this story the election is so close the five electoral votes of West Virginia make the difference.
The plot explains how the competing camps battle through the processes, legally, to contest the election results in individual precincts. But the whole process is affected by bigger complications. These include a billionaire willing to do anything to avoid being deported, an affair by one of the vice presidential candidates that could toast his ticket’s chances, no matter the electoral results, a new prosecutor who continually finds herself in possession of information pertinent to the election results.
This is a fast paced read with plenty of unexpected twists and turns. The suspense lasts until the very end and will keep you guessing the whole time. This is one of the best books I have read lately and I would suggest it as a title to add to your reading list.
