Well I am not always quick to take on the daily prompt because many times I just don’t feel i have a great response to add to the discussion. In fact that is somewhat the feeling today, except for the fact that I am a bit curious about the oigin of other’s blog names. I see a lot of creativity in the names of other’s blogs and know I need to work on my name.
I have been doing this for a while. 101 posts and nearly 3,000 visitors is long enough to begin getting the hang of the process. But one thing I don’t have yet is the ability to draw a sustained audience. Three days ago, Sunday i drew the lowest amount of readers since beginning the blog in late October. As i reflected on the reasons I came to look at the name of my blog and wonder what I might do with it to make my blog more appealing.
The fine folks at the Daily Post are faithful to post pertinent topics about all phases of our blogging experience. They have advised us about themes, widgets, comments and various plug-ins and options to enhance the experience. Using many of these suggestions we have all noticed improvements and increases in attention.
But how important is your blog title? Simply put it is the face of your blog. Mine is named simply Joe’s Musings. I know, it sounds uninspired. I mean really most of you have no idea who Joe is. If you don’t know me why would you care what I muse about? I was more interested at the onset about getting in and writing as that is my first love. Promotion seemed secondary at that time, but I see with experience how vital it truly is.
So now my search is for a clever name for my blog. I took advantage of the Community Pool post to inquire aobut whether people prefer a subject focused blog or multi-subjects under one heading. My feeling is to keep it multi-faceted as I have numerous interests. So, that being said, now I need to focus on a new title for this blogging adventure.
This is my All About Me response. I invite you to check out my blog and give me your opinion toward a new name.
I had a tough time with a blog title, too and went with the simplest thing that came into my head. It seems to work and I write about whatever hits me in the moment.
Yes and you have a clever story with yours, which I enjoy. I am just finding a good name elusive at this time.
I have to agree with Bbots simple is sometimes better. I do, however, understand the need to find an appropriate name that encompasses all of you. It can be daunting, but it can also be a lot of fun. 😀 Good luck and I hope you find a blog name befitting you.
I’ve kept this blog for over a year now, and some days I still get a pretty crappy following. My name doesn’t stand out too much, but I’ve found that simply spending a lot of time promoting others in turn will work in your favor. I follow a lot of bloggers who use their own name as the face of their blog, and most of them have a pretty large following. If you’d dead set on changing the name, then of course go for something you feel better about! I try to include a lot of pingbacks to bloggers I enjoy, and in turn they seem to do the same for me. 🙂
I have not learned the pingback trick.
Whenever you post a link to someone else’s blog on your own blog, they will receive a notification that you did so. Usually, they’ll thank you and/or return the favor in one of their own posts. 🙂

I don’t have a name suggestion but I would definitely say keep it multi-faceted – my favourite blogs are the ones that meander! A lot of the posts on my blog are off topic, but my son is ‘the heart’ (excuse the pun) of it all. Like you, I’m enjoying the writing itself at the moment. I also wanted to say thanks for commenting on my first attempt at a daily prompt!
I think you have a lot to say and the Daily Prompt is something I use when the ideas become slim, as they are at the moment.

I have found that sometimes simple is the best. Your name says to me, this is a guy who doesn’t need fancy frilly clever wording to express his passions. If you change your name I hope you keep these things in mind. 🙂
Oh ps, maybe “The World According to Joe”? or “The Mind of a Multi-Thinking Tasker” Just throwin those out there for ya. Good luck 🙂
