This is my rendering for the Friday Fictioneers post for 4 January 2013. I hope you enjoy! (Genre: Fiction)
Waiting for the final seconds to tick off the clock was agony. I had pined my whole life for this moment, the view of the fabulous fireworks over the coastal waters. Since childhood I heard of the beauty of the sight. I had sold many items to make this journey, a problem to be dealt with another day. For now I was finally enjoying my lifelong dream. The colors reflected into my eyes, promising a lifetime of joyful, colorful memories. If only my soul mate could share it with me.
Dear Joe,
I like that your protagonist had completed a journey to the sea from somewhere inland. i can identify.
Aloha,
Doug
uh oh. where is she? well done.
More! Great piece, leaves so much room for conjecture on my part.
I think some these coupld morph into a short fiction piece for publication as a short story.
I agree!
Sad that such a life-long wish will be over in a few moments and won’t be shared. Nice story.
Oh I found it this time! Yay. I’ve tried to get through several times and couldn’t. Enjoyed your story. It’s wonderful to have a dream come true, it’s even more wonderful to be able to share that experience with someone you love.
Dear Joe,
I think this link took…at least it came to my email. Sweet story. I agree with Ted, I’d hate for readers to miss out on this one.
Shalom,
Rochelle
P.S. I pulled the non working link, Joe. Problem solved. 😉
I think the issue I have had is because I copied the link from my dashboard. I mulled over the posibilites and decided to copy the link from my blog page. That must have been the issue.
Sounds like you’ve figured it out, Joe. Good! Your writing is worth the read. 🙂
You are very kind Rochelle!
can I make a suggestion? can we have allsubmitters vote on friday fictionerr post they most want expanded to fuul post? A way to build even more intetest and see who has story telling skills.
I finally found this just by going to your blog from your comment. The link you sent didn’t work either. Good story, though.
‘a problem to be dealt with another day’… said a lot. Hopeful but sad tale, Joe. I could feel his journey… or is he a she?
p.s. don’t forget to put the link to the story on the Linkz page.
I thought i did, let me go look
Thanks Ted. I clicked, added information and supposed it created, but it had not. It is there now.
Wouldn’t want anyone to miss your story.
