“Is that where Lover boy resides now? I guess that cuts down on the chance of him freezing his …”
“COMET!” the reindeer to his left shouted to stop him from saying what she knew was coming.
“Off!” Comet finished.
“I don’t know why Cupid decided to relocated to Sin City or why all of the sudden this is such a big deal. What I do know is that if you cannot keep your name we have a potential breach of contract with SC Inc.”
“What are you saying?” Persephone asked.
Comet shot his wife an annoyed look, not because she asked, but because he felt she should know the answer.
“It means I won’t be part of the team.”
“That can’t happen,” Persephone protested.
“Actually it can and already has to Dasher and Dancer,” Cassandra Peek declared. She was the official legal liaison between SC Inc. and the world. She had last worked a reindeer case following the Mississippi incident involving Dasher and Prancer.
“We need the money,” Persephone tried to whisper as she looked into Cupid’s eyes with considerable concern.
“When do we go to court?”
“December 20th.”
“Any chance we can get a delay?”
“I can try Cupid.”
